Triad Shines as a Gold Sponsor for Special Olympics -
Connecticut 2005 Northwest Regional Games

Volunteers Assist in Track and Field Event on a Very Special Day for All

(PLAINVILLE, CT, June 14, 2005) As a Gold Sponsor for Special Olympics - Connecticut, Triad Healthcare, Inc. recently assisted during the Track and Field events at the Connecticut 2005 Northwest Regional Games. The event was held on May 14 at Bristol Eastern High School. A national developer and manager of allied specialty healthcare solutions, Triads volunteers included a group of management, employees, friends and family to assist the Special Olympics athletes and manage the games.

"Our recent participation at the Connecticut 2005 Northwest Regional Games as a Special Olympics Gold Sponsor was a wonderful opportunity for our staff to come together outside the office and work together," commented Dr. Tino Villani, President/CEO - Business Needs of Triad Healthcare, Inc. "From the perspective of team building, it was a hard act to follow."

Dr. Villani performed as the Official Timekeeper, while Tonia Roy (Communications Director) served as Coordinator of the event on behalf of Triad. Linesmen for the various Track and Field events included Dr. Santo Sampino (Senior Medical Director) and Bob Byrne (Executive Vice President - Business Delivery). Maria Dwyer (Professional Development and Management Manager) led a cheering section of Triad coworkers in supporting the athletes through a series of competitions, such as the high jump, sprints and wheelchairs races. The Triad volunteers included: Lynn Drouin, Debbie McGill, Deb Maltais, Karen Janes, Donna Cordeau, Lloyd Demmelmaier, Franciso Arroyo, Patti Mason, Isabel Cordero, Mayra Pereira, Doreen Atkinson, Kelli Warner, Marisol Nazario and Melinda Parsons. Many of the Triad volunteers were joined by their significant others and children, helping to make the emotion-filled day special for the whole family.

Dr. Villani continued, "Most importantly, and to no surprise, we all received so much more in return than we offered. Very few organizations can compare with Special Olympics and offer the kind of spiritual and emotional return on investment that we experienced that day."

The Special Olympics - Connecticut facilitators were pleased with the number of volunteers and the enthusiasm the Triad team brought to the games. The organization presented Triad with a sponsor plaque during a recognition ceremony at ESPN in Bristol.

"The success of our events is a reflection of the support we receive from terrific sponsors like Triad Healthcare, Inc.," remarked Beau Doherty, President of Special Olympics Connecticut. "We believe our athletes inspire companies like Triad to come together for a good cause and learn positive lessons in attitude, determination, and cooperation. Everyones a winner!"
